Hong Kong

Hong Kong really opened my mind, visually and mentally. This video I took was from the moment I first landed, it captured how mind-blown I was. Just one small patch of an estate had so many tall buildings with windows on top of windows, it felt like lives were stacked on top of each other.

I explored places like the Choi Hung Estate, where real life happens for so many people in Hong Kong. I was there during the 2019 protests, which started over a controversial extradition bill that would have allowed people to be sent to mainland China for trial. I learned that people would go to work during the day but then gather after work to protest together. It was a powerful reminder of resilience and community.

The above sound is extracted from a video I took at Choi Hung Estate, Kowloon in Hong Kong.
You can hear basketballs bouncing, Tai Chi music and a distinctive radio playing. To immerse yourself please use is a laptop, desktop and/or android mobile. Please note if you are using an iPhone the sound opens on another page.
